Since the implementation of the Globally Harmonized System (GHS), all SDS are required to meet a particular compliance and format.

Dynalene offers safety data sheet (SDS) writing, updating and translation for its customers to meet global regulatory compliance. Manufacturers and distributors of chemicals and products require accurate, compliant and up-to-date documentation that meets the current domestic and international initiatives Dynalene can help ensure the safety documentation of your products are up to date to avoid any regulatory conflicts.

Dynalene also performs testing for product properties to place in your SDS.

  • Flashpoint
  • pH
  • Boiling Point
  • Appearance
  • Melting point
  • Odor
  • Auto-Ignition
  • Viscosity
  • Density
  • Evaporation rate

The SDS authors at Dynalene can help classify your materials to determine any required labeling and hazard information. We can also review your current SDS to make sure it meets GHS/REACH/CLP compliance, and identify any additional information necessary to meet that compliance.

Discussion:

OSHA has implemented a new SDS (formerly MSDS) hazardous chemical communication requirement which harmonizes it with the United Nations’ Global Harmonized System of Classification (GHS). The new system focuses on the structure of the SDS, requiring a consistent 16-section format. The purpose of the SDS is to provide critical information to the user on how to handle and store the product. Each section of the SDS is designated to provide pertinent information to the user. Sections include:

  • Identification
  • Hazard(s)
  • Composition
  • First Aid Measures
  • Fire-Fighting Measures
  • Release Measures
  • Handling and Storage
  • Personal Protection/Exposure Controls
  • Physical and Chemical Properties
  • Stability and Reactivity
  • Toxicological Information
  • Ecological Information
  • Disposal Consideration
  • Transport Information
  • Regulatory Information
  • Other Information

Our SDS authoring can meet the following standards:

  • Globally Harmonized System (GHS)
  • CLP (regulation 2008/1272/EC)
