With Dynalene’s several years of experience in heat-transfer fluid and corrosion inhibitors, we can assist you in making the right material selection for your system. Please contact us if you have additional questions regarding the electrochemical testing and we will help you satisfy your needs.
When a metal (electrode) comes in contact with an ionic fluid (electrolyte), charge transfer occurs across the electrode/electrolyte interface. In case of electrochemical cells, electric potential is applied and the cell consists of an anode which loses electrons (oxidized) and a cathode which gains electrons (reduced). The overall electrochemical reaction taking place in the cell is made up of two half reactions namely anodic and cathodic. The anodic or cathodic half reactions are standardized by using Reference Electrode of constant composition.
Capabilities
With their high-precision Gamry potentiostats, Dynalene scientists can perform DC corrosion testing on metals, alloys, paints and coatings.
Equipped with various sizes of three-probe round bottom and paint test cells, Dynalene can accommodate a wide range of sample size as well as fluid volume, thereby providing a fast and economical solution to your corrosion challenges. Dynalene experts will work with you to identify the type of corrosion in your system fast and can also help you to choose the corrosion inhibitors effectively.
We understand that corrosion is always not a room temperature process, fitted with their customized reference electrode and cell, Dynalene can perform high temperature electrochemical testing in aqueous medium.
- Corrosion measurements we can perform include:
- Corrosion potential
- Corrosion rates
- Pitting potential
- Polarization resistance: both short-term and long-term
- Corrosion current density
- Efficiency of corrosion inhibitors
- Galvanic corrosion
- ASTM testing including: G 5, G 59, G 61, G 69
